Mountain farm museum Gnoppnitz in Greifenburg
In six rooms some 500 exhibits document the hard work of the mountain farmers on the steep slopes. You can see how farmers used to work here in times past, how they lived and what the work is like today. The smokehouse, craft room and the “Arbeit des Bauern in den vier Jahreszeiten” (Farming work spanning the four seasons) exhibit are particularly interesting. New: a school class from “the days of yore”. Outside the building contemporary techniques can be compared with historic work methods.
Tip: The mountain farm museum is also accessible via the Gnoppnitzbach water experience path, one of the loveliest hiking trails in the Drautal. This route is very interesting for families and children too.
