Fishing is a wonderful activity. There are not many activities in the outdoors where you really get to relax and unwind, yet which require a high level of concentration. While fishing in the wild and tranquil waters in the National Park region, fantastic pleasing natural surroundings are guaranteed too.
Fly-fishing – high art on the Möll
When you watch a fly-fisher you might be envious. It takes a lot of skill to get the fly to dance across the water and achieve a successful catch. Professionals are inspired by the clear mountain river Möll; it has an outstanding natural stock of fish, with grayling in particular. Anyone who has experienced the the lovely and exciting of drills of 40 cm graylings will tell you about this very special natural adventure.
The Drau – genuinely special
The River Drau is genuinely special; as well as its stocks of rainbow and river trout, there are also whitefish, grayling, tench and sneep. The Danube salmon is also established in the Drau and it is actually no longer found anywhere else in Central Europe. The fishing area on the Drau spans the Glocknerhof, Pension Putz and Pontiller districts. Natural and artificial bait, lures as well as dry and wet flies are permitted. The Drau can be difficult to fish when there is flooding, e.g. when there is snow melt or longer spells of rain.
