“Plenty of views and unique’ – lovely roads for your holiday

Getting to your holiday in the Hohe Tauern National Park by car is probably the variant that provides you with the most views. The roads that take you to the Hohe Tauern National Park all head through superb landscapes and breath-taking natural surroundings.

There are several options available to you coming from the north. The A10 Tauern motorway takes you quickly and directly south, however it is also very popular and heavily trafficked at the start of the holidays and at end of the weekend. For a more bespoke journey, travel through Gasteinertal and in Böckstein board the car train, which takes you safely and quickly via the car rail route to Mallnitz train station.

Breath-taking views await too when you travel via the Felbertauernstraße via the tunnel of the same name. Coming from the west you are best to travel via South and East Tyrol, through Pustertal. From the east you come to the Hohe Tauern National Park via the A2 south motorway and ‘Knoten Villach’. Coming from the south, the SS52 via Plöckenpass or the A32 via Tarvis and Arnoldstein, will bring you to us.
