Oberdrauburg
The historic town in the National Park
Historically relevant and a climbing hotspot – that is how Oberdrauburg reveals itself to its visitors. Historic edifices, various churches and numerous archaeological finds are evidence of the fact that Oberdrauburg even had a key role to play at the time of the Celts and the Romans. Today the town is notable in the National Park district and has always had a lead role to play for climbing fans. In the climbing park in the middle of the town centre you head steeply uphill. Pirknerklamm Gorge at the foot of the Hochstadel has a ravine via ferrata route that is especially renowned for its rainbow waterfall.
