The legendary mountaineering village of Heiligenblut is not only one of the most beautiful in the Alps, it is also very well-known too. Probably everyone has already seen the views from Austria’s highest mountain, the Großglockner, behind St. Vinzenz pilgrimage church. Heiligenblut also marks the start and end point of the Großglockner High Alpine Road, which connects the federal states of Carinthia and Salzburg. The Alpe-Adria-Trail also starts in Heiligenblut and there are many other magical moments waiting for you, including the gold-mining village in Fleißtal.
