Reisseck Funicular
An adventure that’s a bit steep – a ride on the funicular up into the world of the Hohe Tauern! You will overcome an incline of 82 % on the steepest stretch of the Reißeck funicular. The Reißeck narrow gauge railway will take you on to the mountain restaurant. Here you will be spellbound by the breathtaking panoramic view of the high mountains.

Falkenstein castle near Obervellach
Falkenstein towers over the Möll valley near Obervellach as a picturesque "fairy-tale castle". Slightly higher up, Oberfalkenstein castle is now a ruin. From Obervellach, as well as from the village of Gratschach, there are undemanding hiking trails to both castles.
Kreuzeck Panorama cable railway
Built in 1956, the nostalgic Kreuzeck cable railway will take you on a romantic ride up to Rosswiese reservoir, the mountain station, at an altitude of about 1,200m. There one of the most attractive hiking areas in the Alps awaits you, the Kreuzeck Group, with one of the Region’s most distinctive mountains for views, the Salzkofel (2,498m).
Celtic cup stone
Already distinctive from a distance the cone-shaped Danielsberg mountain stands proud at the entrance to the lower Möll valley. The mountain consists of especially hard rock so that the glaciers of the Ice Ages were not able to grind it down.

Großglockner High Alpine Road
The most famous alpine road, the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße, takes you right into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park and to the highest mountain in Austria, the Großglockner (3,798 m) and its Pasterze glacier! The panorama road is 48 kilometres long and includes 36 hair-pin bends. On the ascent to an altitude of 2,504 metres, you will drive through a unique mountain world.
