Waterfalls and gorges walking tours
For millions of years the elemental force of water has moulded and shaped the mountainous landscape of the Hohe Tauern! In the process it has left behind for us masterpieces of the Creation: waterfalls plummeting down into the valleys over sky-high rock faces and through deep and mysterious gorges.
Seven Summits in the Hohe Tauern National Park
“Seven Summits”? This phrase makes tacit reference to the highest summits of the seven continents. Don’t worry though; we don’t intend to climb Mount Everest! But we have selected seven terrific target summits for you, all in the Hohe Tauern National Park. We cordially invite you to an unforgettable expedition across the entire National Park!
Culture trails in the National Park Region
Myths, legends, TauernGold: walk through the history of the region along gorgeous trails in a terrific landscape!
We do the driving; you do the walking!
It’s relaxing, a great experience, climate friendly and really good value: in 2011 the National Park Hikers’ Bus will operate from 18 June to 18 September, taking you to the most beautiful places for hiking in the National Park. In many cases our National Park Rangers and mountain guides will already be there waiting to accompany you on your explorations in the world of natural wonders!
Ski Carinthia – Carinthia’s highest skiing pleasures!
Snow conditions you can rely on, at altitudes of up to 3,000m, in a sunny location to the south of the main ridge of the Alps. Almost 150km of pistes with masses of space for your swing turns and a huge area for free-riding, well away from prepared pistes. "Ski Carinthia" offers all this; at its top-of-the-range Grossglockner/Heiligenblut, Moell Valley Glacier/Flattach and Ankogel/Mallnitz skiing areas!
Alpine horse-riding – on the trail of the “sumpters”
For centuries adventurous tradesmen known as "sumpters" transported wine, salt and gold to far away towns and ports on the backs of their packhorses. Immerse yourself in those long lost golden times and explore the old trade routes of the National Park on horseback.
